We use heavy-duty silicone gaskets and reinforced seals at every single joint. Why? Because water is sneaky. If a stray splash hits the electrical terminals, you get arcing. They need to breathe. If you choke off the airflow, the internals will overheat and the thermal cutout will trip, shutting the whole thing down. Give it some room. One last tip for the install. Even the best-sealed heater can be ruined by a bad wiring job. Water loves to travel. It will literally slide down your power cable and dive straight into your junction box. The fix?**Drip loops.**Just loop the wire down and back up before it enters the box. It forces the water to drip off the bottom of the curve instead of running into the electronics. Do that, and these heaters will live for years—even if you’re dealing with salty sea air or brutal humidity.
