
Getting Your Bathroom Warm (Without the Wait)
Ever stepped out of a shower into a freezing bathroom? It’s the worst. Most heaters just try to warm up the air, but in a drafty room, that heat just vanishes the second you open a door or window. That’s why we use shortwave infrared (SWIR). Instead of fighting the air, these heaters go straight for the target. They send energy directly to your skin or the tiles on the wall. You feel the heat the second you turn it on. No waiting around.
How we actually make it work
Inside the unit, there’s a high-wattage quartz element sitting in front of a reflective mirror. Now, the mirror isn’t there to look pretty. It’s shaped like a parabola to catch all those infrared waves that would normally just bounce backward and throw them forward in a tight beam. It’s basically a spotlight for heat. That’s how the unit hits its peak temperature in a matter of seconds.
Dealing with the damp
Bathrooms are kind of a nightmare for electronics. Steam and humidity get into everything. To stop the units from dying early, we use high-grade quartz glass that can handle sudden temperature jumps without cracking. We also make sure the seals are airtight. If moisture creeps into the electrical terminals, you’re looking at a short circuit. Nobody wants that. And since things eventually wear out, we use R7s snap-in connectors. If a lamp blows, you don’t have to rip the whole fixture off the wall. You just pop the old one out and drop a new one in. Simple.
A few things to watch out for
Because this heat is so intense and focused, you can’t just slap these anywhere. If you mount the heater too close to a plastic trim or something flammable, you’re going to warp your walls. We suggest leaving at least 1.5 meters of space so the heat can spread out safely. Oh, and a quick tip for your electrician: make sure the circuit can handle the initial surge when the heater kicks in. You don’t want to be standing in a towel only to have the breaker trip.
